Welcome

Casa Culmet - a warm 1970s apartment at the entrance of Arosa.

Casa Culmet sits at the very entrance of Arosa - a seven-minute walk from the train station, three from the Coop, five from the bakery and restaurants. Everything is reachable on foot, and a free village bus loops past the door all day. The Weisshorn gondola into the vast Arosa Lenzerheide ski area is 10 minutes away on foot, or 3 by bus.

The apartment faces east-south, so the sun arrives at sunrise and stays with you through the day - long breakfasts on the balcony, light-filled afternoons, unblocked views onto the Amselflue, Furggahorn and Schiesshorn. A private garage is included in the house, so the car is off your mind the moment you arrive.

Come in winter for powder mornings and the Untersee ice bath, in summer for wildflowers, pedalo on the Obersee and long hikes from the door, in autumn for larch-gold forests, and between seasons for the silence.

Living Room
01

Living Room

A bright, generous living area with a large L-shaped sofa, TV, and direct access to the east-south balcony. The sofa pulls out to a 1.60 m sofa bed that comfortably sleeps two - a small trick that turns the room into a second bedroom whenever you need it.

Bedroom
02

Bedroom

The heart of the apartment: a rare 1.80 x 2.00 m boxspring mattress on an airy black metal bed frame - a size you almost never find in Alpine rentals. A small desk, wardrobes and generous storage complete a quiet, restorative room.

Kitchen
03

Kitchen

An honest 1970s kitchen with soft sage-green fronts, an electric stove, oven and small dishwasher - everything you need for a fondue or a lazy Sunday breakfast at home. The yellow daybed in the corner converts into a children's bed, and a spare mattress can be laid out on the floor for a second child.

Dining Area
04

Dining Area

An open dining space for four next to the kitchen, with a large window framing the wooden chalets across the street and the mountains beyond - a favourite spot for morning coffee.

Balcony
05

Balcony

An east-south facing balcony that catches the first sunrise and stays in full sun all day long. Unblocked views straight onto the Amselflue, Furggahorn and Schiesshorn - from first coffee to last light.

Bathroom
06

Bathroom

A charming retro bathroom clad in soft light-green tiles, with bathtub, shower and a WC. A warm, simple bathroom, stocked with fresh towels and natural soaps.

Shared Sauna
07

Shared Sauna

Downstairs in Casa Culmet, a Finnish sauna and shower area is shared with the other owners of the house - a welcome, quiet end to a day on the mountain.

"A fantastic ski getaway in the heart of Arosa. We arrived by train, I brought a friend from Peru. We reached the slopes and village on foot, and return to a warm, spacious apartment after a day in the mountains. The sauna is definitely a plus."

Your host at Casa Culmet

My connection with Arosa goes back much further than my own 20 years of coming here. My mother and grandparents already spent time in Arosa as children, and over the years the village became a place that always felt like home. In early 2025, I decided to make that feeling permanent and moved to Arosa full-time.

As the founder of Zumstein Communications GmbH and a certified Qigong teacher through swissqigong, I value wellbeing, authenticity and outdoor experiences. I hope this apartment offers you more than just a place to stay - a space to relax, recharge and enjoy everything that makes Arosa so special.
